The City’s Archives are well and truly in the spotlight tomorrow (Saturday 25 May) for the Plymouth History Fest! Local history experts will be on hand to look at people’s historic documents and photographs and showcase some of the items under the care of the Plymouth and West Devon Record Office (PWDRO) in our big ‘Archives from the Attic’ event in Plymouth University’s Portland Square Building.
Talks about PWDRO, the Friends of Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, the Pride in our Past and North Prospect History archive projects are also taking place in the Uni’s Devonport Lecture Theatre throughout the day. Films from/courtesy of the South West Film and Television Archive will be screened in the Jill Craigie Cinema.
Lots going on in the Plympton area too including a display, a children’s quiz, a tour and a guided walk. Finally, don’t miss a chance to have a sneak preview of the Museum’s forthcoming ‘Stories from the Stores’ exhibition or see an art installation (for one day only) by artist, Juliet Middleton-Batts at Smeaton’s Tower!
